Projects Approved June 8, 2010

The following projects were approved at our latest Local Initiatives Funding meeting June 8, 2010:

 



·    Tagged Fishing Derby          $2,500

(Dryden Ice Dogs to host fishing derby weekend of July 31.)

·    Baseball Dugouts          $ 2,500

(Ignace Recreation Department building 4 dugouts.)

·    Turnout Gear Storage System       $2,000

(Machin Firefighters Association to install gear storage system.)

·    Community Garden  $5,000

(Mary Berglund Com. Health Centre taking the lead in building a Community Garden.)

·    National Windsurfing Championships      $4,000

(Dryden Marketing Association marketing the event nationwide.)

·    Locavore Box      $   700

(Cloverbelt Country Farmer’s Market offering pilot project of local food boxes.)

·    Cooperative Study    $2,500

(Kenora District Soil & Crop Improvement Association needs to find out how a producer/consumer cooperative model would be viable in the region.)

·    Aboriginal Day Event     $2,500

(Elders Group at Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation hosting evening event.)

·    Roy Prevost Video Conf. Seminar       $  425

(PACE offering free of charge video conferencing seminar on Turbo Charging Your Business.)
