LEARN MORE ABOUT PACE’S INCUBATOR
AND MENTORSHIP PROGRAMS

The Incubator Program

The PACE Incubator Program is an 18-month opportunity for entrepreneurs to launch or grow their business in a supportive, low-cost environment. Based in the iconic Mayfair Theatre on Front Street in Sioux Lookout, participants gain access to reduced downtown rent, shared office amenities, and hands-on support including one-on-one business counseling, mentorship, and workshops. Whether you're just starting out or scaling up, the incubator helps you build a strong, sustainable business — right in the heart of the community.

  • You’re eligible to apply if:

    • Your business is located (or will be located) within the PACE catchment area.

    • You have a personal investment in the business.

    • Your business shows potential to create or maintain jobs.

    • The business idea is viable, legal, and suitable for an office-style workspace.

    • A professional workspace with subsidized rent.

    • One-on-one support from a dedicated Program Coordinator.

    • Access to business training and development workshops.

    • Connection to the PACE Mentorship Program, where you’ll be matched with an experienced local entrepreneur.

    • Opportunities to network with other small business owners and community partners.

  • To apply, complete the application form and email it to shannonw@pace-cf.on.ca.
    If accepted, you’ll b
e asked to sign a Workspace Agreement, a confidentiality agreement, and an Offer to Participate. The Program Coordinator will then work with you to create a personalized plan for your business growth and training.

You can download the application form here.

  • The goal of the Incubator Program is to help you grow your business to the point where you're ready to move into your own space. By the end of the 18 months, participants are expected to transition out of the incubator and continue operating independently, equipped with the tools, training, and connections needed to succeed long-term.

The Mentorship Program

The PACE Mentorship Program connects entrepreneurs with experienced local business leaders for three months of goal-driven guidance and support. Mentees and mentors meet at least once a month to work through real-world challenges and opportunities. The program is flexible, practical, and designed to foster long-term growth, confidence, and connection. It's a powerful way to learn from those who’ve walked the path — and to move your business forward with a trusted ally by your side.

  • The program is open to both new and existing entrepreneurs within the PACE service area who are looking to gain insight, support, and confidence from someone with real-world business experience. Mentors are typically established business owners or professionals willing to share their knowledge and time.

  • Mentors and mentees are expected to meet at least once per month for three months, with additional meetings encouraged based on goals and availability. Both parties commit to following through on agreed-upon action steps, engaging in regular check-ins, and completing a brief follow-up process with the Program Coordinator.

  • Mentees gain personalized advice, accountability, and a fresh perspective on their business. Mentors benefit by giving back to the local business community and strengthening their own leadership and coaching skills. Many participants say the connections built through this program last well beyond the initial three months.
